It's been 20 years and Mel left her life and husband in Australia and returned home to England to live with her twin sister Abbie。 But her happiness at being home is short lived; her sister who used to be outgoing is now distant and uncaring。 With Abbie's mysterious behaviour Mel is spooked out and when someone breaks into the house it seems like everything around her is under attack。 It is up to Mel to figure out what is happening with her beloved sister and how to get her life back on track。Th It's been 20 years and Mel left her life and husband in Australia and returned home to England to live with her twin sister Abbie。 But her happiness at being home is short lived; her sister who used to be outgoing is now distant and uncaring。 With Abbie's mysterious behaviour Mel is spooked out and when someone breaks into the house it seems like everything around her is under attack。 It is up to Mel to figure out what is happening with her beloved sister and how to get her life back on track。The plot of this story is what drove me into picking this NetGalley read and I am sad to say I was disappointed。 The characters were blank, the storyline was dragging and about 50% of the beginning of the book is just the everyday life of the twins。 By then I already lost the hope to actually enjoy the characters。 At least there is some action after that。 There are quite a few twists but it felt like they were just piling up to make a big end。What surprised me was the epilogue。 I can see it working if there is gonna be a second book but it didn't feel like a satisfying end。 Although it did make me feel something, which is more than the rest of the book did。*Thank you NetGalley, Lorna Dounaeva and Inkubator Books for a free ARC。 。。。more

I enjoyed this book。 Kept me guessing。 Characters were interesting。

I found the book somewhat underwhelming。 It is a very slow burner, with not a lot happening at all in the first half。 It does start to pick up some pace in the second half。 Secrets are revealed and there is a big twist at the end。 Worth a read but the slow beginning almost stopped me from carrying on with it。

This is the third book that I read by Lorna Douaneva and I really like her writing style。 This book is no different, it has a lot of action, mystery, reflections on life and relationships, and the relentless search for the truth。 It is fast-paced, full of action, and gets you hooked from the beginning。 Very good entertainment!I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review。

Mel moved into her family home thanks to her life taking a wrong turn。 Her twin also happens to be there。 As she is regrouping though she notices Abbie isn't ok it would seem even alot off。 She now has a puzzle to figure out it would seem。 She is also being followed so by now we are roped into this one good and tight。 As we turn the pages it becomes a terror gulping down until the end。 Mel moved into her family home thanks to her life taking a wrong turn。 Her twin also happens to be there。 As she is regrouping though she notices Abbie isn't ok it would seem even alot off。 She now has a puzzle to figure out it would seem。 She is also being followed so by now we are roped into this one good and tight。 As we turn the pages it becomes a terror gulping down until the end。 。。。more

Terrific!Mel and Abbie really bring this story to life。 I loved the psycholgical aspects but it would have suited me better if it been darker and more twisted。I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review。

(To be fair to the author, I do read quite a few thrillers and am pretty good at those logic puzzles。。。 so other people honestly would probably be pleasantly surprised at the twist! ❤😘)I struggled with this one for a few reasons。。。 the slow start and predictable plot but also because it lacked character development in my opinion。 I didnt feel like I was given the chance to connect to them and so felt detached from the story。 Honestly。。。 all the characters actually got on my nerves and frustrated me 😂 。I would recommend this book if you: - are a twin or like reading about twins - don't mind a slow burn - enjoy drama - are not a reader who likes to get emotionally attached - are looking for a quick easy read⭐⭐ 2/5 starsI received this #freebook #eARC from @inkubatorbooks via @netgalley in exchange for an honest review。❓ #QOTD ❓• Are you a twin/multiple? The Wrong Twin is told from Mel’s point of view。 She’s running from a marriage she isn’t happy in, back to her home in the UK and her twin sister Abbie。 Abbie has been acting off, and Mel can’t seem to figure out what is going on with her。 As the story unfolds, Mel learns there have been so many changes happening while she’s been gone that she can barely keep up。 I’ve read all of Dounaeva’s books, and this one felt different from her other books。 I didn’t really care for Mel。 It was hard to deal The Wrong Twin is told from Mel’s point of view。 She’s running from a marriage she isn’t happy in, back to her home in the UK and her twin sister Abbie。 Abbie has been acting off, and Mel can’t seem to figure out what is going on with her。 As the story unfolds, Mel learns there have been so many changes happening while she’s been gone that she can barely keep up。 I’ve read all of Dounaeva’s books, and this one felt different from her other books。 I didn’t really care for Mel。 It was hard to deal with the fact that she was so incredibly clueless。 I didn’t care for how she let Abbie control her, and the same goes for her ex, Peter。 He keeps pushing this narrative that Mel is ill when there are absolutely no signs of it。 It didn’t make sense and felt forced。 Overall, this was a mixed bag for me, with some highs and lows。 It definitely felt different from her other works。 I encourage others to give it a read。 。。。more

Although this was easy to read and I read it within 2 days, it never really did it for me。 The pace of the story seemed to be the same most of the way through, although it ramped up towards the end and the reason for the book title suddenly became clear。 I loved the ending though!I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review。

I'm not sure if I will ever be able to resist reading a book about twins! This one opens up with 40-year-old Mel returning to Wymouth after twenty years spent in Australia。 Her this sister, Abbie, seems a bit off upon her arrival - but then, they hadn't seen each other since their parents' sudden death four years earlier。 Mel's marriage is ending and work pressures have her further on edge。 Abbie's odd behavior just adds to her stress levels。 At first, the book reads like a rather standard famil I'm not sure if I will ever be able to resist reading a book about twins! Not to mention that the characters are also not particularly likable。 I wish that Mel especially had been easier to connect with - though I did appreciate her being the only one to care for the dog at least! Still, it retained my interest from start to finish and I definitely appreciated the surprises that the plot held。 Overall, it's a quick read and I think it would be the perfect choice for a plane ride! 。。。more

Thank you Netgalley, Inkubator Books, and Lorna Dounaeva for this ARC。 I nearly put this book down at first as it was so slow and boring。 When we finally meet Abbie, things start to get a little more interesting。 She is far from the sister Mel remembers her to be。 The story doesn't really pick up until about 60% through。 Secrets revealed, the heat turns up, twists in the story begin to unfold。 The final twist was a doozy I did not see coming。 It felt a little abrupt and rushed, but it was jaw dr Thank you Netgalley, Inkubator Books, and Lorna Dounaeva for this ARC。 I nearly put this book down at first as it was so slow and boring。 When we finally meet Abbie, things start to get a little more interesting。 She is far from the sister Mel remembers her to be。 The story doesn't really pick up until about 60% through。 Secrets revealed, the heat turns up, twists in the story begin to unfold。 The final twist was a doozy I did not see coming。 It felt a little abrupt and rushed, but it was jaw dropping。 。。。more

Okay, if you want a quick summary of this book, i'd tell you: The book started so weakly, the lead character, Mel, was so lame and pushover to a fault, there wasn't much happening in the first 50% of the book, it was literally just the everyday life of Mel and her strange sister。The story starts to get some volume in the next half, secrets are slowly getting revealed, and finally, we get some action。But to be honest, the twist wasn't that powerful, it was so underwhelming, and after the first tw Okay, if you want a quick summary of this book, i'd tell you: The book started so weakly, the lead character, Mel, was so lame and pushover to a fault, there wasn't much happening in the first 50% of the book, it was literally just the everyday life of Mel and her strange sister。The story starts to get some volume in the next half, secrets are slowly getting revealed, and finally, we get some action。But to be honest, the twist wasn't that powerful, it was so underwhelming, and after the first twist is up the book just went on poorly, it felt like it was done just to be submitted before a deadline。Didn't like it at all。* I received an ARC of this book in exchange of an honest review via netgalley and the publisher* 。。。more

This story started off really slow, I honestly felt like it was chick lit at first。 But then as I read on it real interesting, real fast。。。because Abbie seems different and Mel just can't seem to figure out why。I didn't like any of the characters in this book, I found Mel to be a pushover and pretty naive。 I hate when books do that。。。makes it harder to believe what is going on。 Eventually, in the end, Mel earns my respect though。What I liked most about the book was the surprise twi This story started off really slow, I honestly felt like it was chick lit at first。 But then as I read on it real interesting, real fast。。。because Abbie seems different and Mel just can't seem to figure out why。I didn't like any of the characters in this book, I found Mel to be a pushover and pretty naive。 I hate when books do that。。。makes it harder to believe what is going on。 Eventually, in the end, Mel earns my respect though。What I liked most about the book was the surprise twist at the end。 That alone makes the book deserving of the three stars。Disclosure:Thank you NetGalley, Lorna Dounaeva and Inkubator Books for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an impartial review; all opinions are my own。#TheWrongTwin #NetGalley 。。。more

Thank you Netgalley and Inkubator Books for the eARC。Mel, after 20 years, has left her husband and Australia to return to her original home in England, where her twin Abbie still lives。 But the the homecoming is not as expected: her sister is not the same; she's distant, neglects her supposedly beloved dog, Otto, and is no longer the outgoing person she used to be。 Mel's uneasy and confused。 Terrified after a stranger breaks into her home, her life seems to spiral out of control。 I got frustrate Thank you Netgalley and Inkubator Books for the eARC。Mel, after 20 years, has left her husband and Australia to return to her original home in England, where her twin Abbie still lives。 But the the homecoming is not as expected: her sister is not the same; she's distant, neglects her supposedly beloved dog, Otto, and is no longer the outgoing person she used to be。 Mel's uneasy and confused。 Terrified after a stranger breaks into her home, her life seems to spiral out of control。 I got frustrated with some of the decisions she made and felt so sorry for poor Otto。 But she redeemed herself by finally fighting for herself and her new life。 It's a gripping read and I didn't see the final truth about Abbie coming, quite thesurprise。 The end of the book had me dropping my jaw, whoa! I hope there will be a follow-up, I'd like to know how life turns out for Mel and Otto。Definitely recommended。 。。。more
